Mahmood Ali-Balogun is a Nigerian filmmaker, cultural worker and the Managing director
of Brickwall Communications Limited. He directed the multiple award-winning film 'Tango
With Me’ starring Genevieve Nnaji which to date is the second highest grossing Nigerian film
of all time, he also worked as a film consultant on the smash hit romantic comedy Flower
Girl which was the highest grossing Nigerian film of 2013. Since 1999 Mahmood has also
directed 6 award winning documentaries: Dance of the Maidens (Traditional Marriage rites),
Berthing a Nation - Dividends of Democracy, Trafficking in Women & Children - the New
Slavery, Environmental Pollution in Nigeria, Child Abuse in Nigeria, Highlife - The Endangered Music form. For decades Mahmood has been a major player in Nigerian motion picture industry, his pioneering efforts include participating in setting up various associations and bodies such as the Independent Television Producers Association of Nigeria (ITPAN) and the Conference of Motion Picture Practitioners of Nigeria (CMPPN) an umbrella body for the various guilds of the Nigerian film industry. He is the Chairman of the Audio Visual Rights Society (AVRS) of Nigeria.
